UHPRO is increasingly used in wastewater treatment processes for zero liquid discharge (ZLD) and minimal liquid discharge (MLD) wastewater treatment processes, which aim to reduce wastewater discharge and reuse water from industrial applications. Unlike traditional methods to achieve ZLD and MLD, which require expensive and energy intensive thermal desalination technologies, UHPRO can be applied as a cost-effective, reliable, and efficient alternative to thermal. The result: far less thermal desalination is needed to achieve the same ZLD and MLD treatment objectives.
Our Ultra PX makes UHPRO even more cost-competitive by reducing the energy waste of the UHPRO process, thus reducing the size of the Thermal plant. The Ultra PX returns pressure energy to the system, ultimately reducing overall energy costs and emissions.
