Brackish Applications
Brackish water — which is salty water found in aquifers, rivers and lakes — can be vital source of water in both coastal and inland areas. Brackish water, like seawater, can be converted to drinking water using reverse osmosis, the same process used to convert seawater to potable water. Although brackish water reverse osmosis (BRWO) doesn’t require the same high pressures as SWRO, it still consumes significant amounts of energy. ERI’s PX devices are currently being used to improve the energy efficiencies in a variety of locations where brackish water is the only source of water available — with flexibility, durability and a minimal footprint.
ERI is currently developing a new line of PX devices design specifically for brackish applications. Please contact your sales representative for more details.
