
Dr. Marie Elisabeth Paté-Cornell

Dr. Marie Elisabeth Paté-Cornell joined ERI’s board of directors in February 2009. Her experience includes serving as a board member with Aerospace Corporation, InQtel and Draper Laboratory at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her leadership role at a major U.S. university, her extensive academic background in management science and engineering, her work in public policy and her specialized knowledge of risk analysis and management make Dr. Paté-Cornell a tremendous asset to the ERI board of directors.
Dr. Paté-Cornell is currently a professor and chair of Stanford University’s Department of Management Science and Engineering, prior to which she served as an assistant professor of civil engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Paté-Cornell was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 1995, and was a member of its council from 2001 to 2007.
Dr. Paté-Cornell holds a Ph.D. in engineering-economic systems and a masters of science in operations research from Stanford University. She also received a master’s degree in applied mathematics and computer science from the Institut Polytechnique de Grenoble in France.
