
G.G. Pique
Director, President and Chief Executive Officer
G.G. Pique is an entrepreneurial leader who has been with ERI since February 2000. In addition to sitting on the board, he has served as the company’s president and CEO since August 2002. Mr. Pique’s skill and leadership as CEO, his work in preparing the company for its initial public offering, his in-depth knowledge of equipment technology and his expertise in taking new products to market are ideal attributes as a board member.
Since joining ERI, Mr. Pique has driven and managed the company’s business model and its organization from a $1.5 million operation to the world’s leading provider of clean, energy-efficient technologies to the water desalination industry with 80 percent market share. He has also helped established a unique corporate culture at ERI that empowers employees to bring new ideas for clean technologies to market in order to increase energy-efficiency and productivity with the aim of developing new and innovative products.
Mr. Pique began his career in sales and market development in the power generation, steel and gas processing industries. Mr. Pique has more than 35 years of experience in the water industry. Prior to joining ERI, he served as senior vice president and corporate officer of US Filter Corp., a Fortune 500, publicly-traded company focused on the acquisition, turnaround, integration and growth management of more than 165 water treatment companies. He also directed and managed 16 operating businesses in Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America before US Filter Corp. was acquired Vivendi in 1999 for $7.5 billion.
In addition, Mr. Pique has held senior management positions in a variety of global companies including Ionics, Fluid Systems, Fluor, Dorr Oliver and Combustion Engineering. He is board member of the P-K Direct Inc., a manufacturer of electronic coils and transformers since 2002. In addition, Mr. Pique served as a board member of the International Desalination Association (IDA) from 2007-2009, and is a member of several other industry associations, including the European Desalination Society (EDS) and the American Membrane Technology Association (AMTA).
Mr. Pique holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Connecticut and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Hartford.
