Energy Recovery, Inc. (ERI®) is a privately-held, California-based company that has developed and commercialized new, patented technologies that are radically lowering the global energy cost of producing fresh water from seawater.
Established in 1992, ERI’s PX Pressure Exchanger® (PX®) technology is a unique device that recovers energy from the high-pressure waste stream of seawater desalination reverse osmosis systems at up to 98% efficiency. ERI’s patented breakthrough technology and experienced technical team have made ERI a leader in the energy recovery market and a catalyst of growth in the global desalination/water treatment industry.
ERI has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Director to join our Marketing team, reporting to the Vice President, Marketing. This position will be based in San Leandro, California. In this key marketing leadership role, you will be responsible for helping to define and implement strategies to support our position as a leader in the energy recovery market and the global desalination industry.
Major responsibilities:

Direct global business-to-business marketing activities for all products in the assigned business unit identifying new business opportunities and supporting existing ERI business objectives.

Plan, develop and execute strategic and tactical marketing plans and processes

Monitor and evaluate competitor and client intelligence and developing appropriate strategies to optimize potential opportunities.

Coordinate with all ERI global locations as appropriate to develop and implement programs or develop new services to maximize growth.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with ERI leadership and management teams to coordinate objectives and identify, develop, and launch new service lines. Creative thinking is required.

Manage the direction and work of the (assigned BU) marketing team. Set objectives, monitor progress, provide feedback and provide formal written performance on a regular basis.

Take responsibility for the development of your team, help them craft development plans, personally coach and train individual employees.

Practical marketing communications skills such as development of online and print materials, including public relations writing and pitching is a must.

Manages internet marketing practices and applications, including SEO knowledge and implementation.

Program and promotion development, advertising, trade shows, packaging and merchandising.

Continually evaluates the timely adjustment of marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.

Knowledge and experience managing a departmental budget.

This position will require up to 25% travel including attendance to domestic and international technical conferences/exhibits.
Requirements:

BS degree, preferably in marketing, business or science; MBA preferred

7-10 years experience in a product management or other marketing role, including experience developing and launching new products or services.

Demonstrated success in driving results in a global, matrix environment and through cross-functional teams

Experience managing multiple projects with varying timelines to successful completion

Demonstrated ability to identify new opportunities for growth and drive change throughout an organization

Candidates need to be results oriented and highly focused.

Web marketing strategies including SEO knowledge.

Solid understanding and experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products, including knowledge and understanding of web-based, analytical marketing tools.

International business experience and/or a second language is a plus
