LONDON – Apr. 19, 2024 – Energy Recovery, Inc. (Nasdaq: ERII) has been named “Refrigeration Product of the Year” at the 2024 ACR News Awards in London.

The ACR News Awards recognizes innovation and performance in the HVAC&R industry, with the “Refrigeration Product of the Year” award targeted at products that support refrigeration systems across various types of applications.

The PX G1300® pressure exchanger from Energy Recovery was selected for its ability to improve year-round transcritical CO2 system performance by reducing energy costs, increasing cooling capacity, and increasing energy efficiency at high ambient temperatures. This game-changing technology offers compression and expansion in a single component by recycling energy between high-pressure and low-pressure liquid and/or gas.

“Energy Recovery is proud and gratified to accept this recognition from our peers in the HVAC&R industry,” said KC Chen, Energy Recovery Vice President of CO2. “For more than 30 years we have used the principle of pressure exchange to save our customers in water treatment over six billion dollars in energy costs each year. When we realized this same principle could be applied to transcritical CO2 systems, we knew that we had an innovation that could revolutionize the HVAC&R industry and are honored that ACR News agrees.”

The PX G1300 pressure exchanger can increase the energy efficiency of CO2-based commercial refrigeration systems by more than 25% at 35-40°C (95- 104°F) and more than 30% above 40°C (104°F), compared to a standard CO2 system with no energy recovery devices.
